Over 30 companies attended the very successful launch of African Logistics Port Hub Association (ALPHA) in Bremen, Germany, on 30 May 2018. The official launch was sponsored by EMS log GmbH, which has a global footprint in Africa, specialising in transport logistics for extra heavy, wide, long and high cargo via road, sea and air.
A big ‘thank you’ was extended to the Honourable Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry of Ghana Mr Carlos Ahenkorah, the keynote speaker at the official launch of what is Africa’s largest supply chain management portal. His well-crafted speech proved invaluable to the success of such an important and prestigious event in the world of international logistics management.
The launch was welcomed by a diverse range of well-informed professionals and was designed to put ALPHA firmly on the world map as a new and rapidly developing force, capable of opening up new business horizons and profitable trading opportunities, while founded on a bedrock of expertise, an extensive communications network and high levels of corporate cooperation.
The panel of speakers included the Senior Trade Development Manager at Port Houston, the CEO of central Africa’s largest deep-sea Port of Kribi, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry of Ghana and the President/CEO of Transimex.
This major event provided an opportunity to find answers to key questions in relation to doing business in Africa today and networking with influential professionals and potential business partners, while allowing participants to rub shoulders with those at the heart of the current economic growth taking place on a continent that is witnessing a sea change in terms of its trading outlook.
